Plant seeds outdoors in well-drained soil after the last frost. Where winters are mild, seeds may be planted outdoors in the fall. Add lime if soil is acidic.

Water when the top 3 inch of soil is dry. Fertilize once or twice. After flowering, plants re-seed themselves. Remove faded blossoms to prolong flowering. Plants often behave as perennials in mild winter areas.
