As soon as ground can be worked in spring or fall broadcast seeds. Cover lightly with soil. Firm by light tamping. Water carefully. 

For early bloom: Sow indoors 8 weeks before last frost. Cover lightly. Harden-off for 3 weeks before transplanting.

Very easy to grow and they make a wonderful long lasting cut flower, and in many areas they winter over for beauty the next year. I have some that are going on 3 years old now!
