Start seeds indoors in sunny location 6 weeks before planting outside or, sow seed in the garden in a sunny location with rich, well-drained soil. Performs best in rows 12 inches apart. Thin plants to 12 inches apart when they are 2 inches tall. Pick leaves as needed.

Plants produce aromatic, pungently-flavored leaves which are used either fresh or dried to flavor soups, egg and cheese dishes, lamb, port, and veal. A pinch of fresh leaves adds a subtle aroma and taste to fresh garden salads.

*Encourage foliage by removing flowers as they appear. For drying cut before flowers open in mid-summer.
