Foxglove *Perennial Germination: 7-10
days Plant in rich soil with light shade and regular watering. Sow seed in spring or fall. Be sure to bait for snails and slugs. After first flowering, cut main spike, side shoots will develop, bloom until September. Plants will self-sow freely. Use foxgloves for vertical display among shrubs or with ferns, taller campanulas, meadow rue. Hummingbirds like the flowers very much. All parts of this plant are poisonous so keep that in mind if you have children who love to pick you flowers. I like to start these in flats, the seed is very tiny and I have much better control over them in a flat. If you have any questions you can email me at verna@redrocknursery.com and I will be happy to help you out. Happy Gardening! |
